FINANCES (Savings)

Set date to access long-term savings. Review the tax penalties for withdrawals vs. loans HERERead about waived early withdrawal penalties under the CARE Act HERE.


Assess your food and household supplies. Determine if you need assistance. Contact your family, local religious groups, or community food banks for assistance. Click HERE for food assistance information.


Confirm continuation of benefits or if you need to apply for COBRA through your HR department. Assess cost for COBRA insurance. Set date to file for COBRA if you are not returning to work.


Assess your need for short-term employment. Apply with temporary employment agencies or the Utah Department of Workforce Services.


Assess need for additional financial assistance. Set date to apply for a loan from your financial institution. Click HERE for additional information.


If you have not already contacted your utility providers, do so this week. Determine options for deferred payments. Click HERE for utility assistance information.                                                                                        


Assess your mental wellness. Need to speak to someone? Click HERE for mental health resources. 


Know the timeframe that you need to report back to work if you have been furloughed. Do you have 24 hours or only 12 hours? Contact your employer's human resource department.


Establish alternative or deferred payment arrangements with landlord or mortgage company. Get additional information HERE.

Evaluate your need for unemployment benefits. Register with the Utah Department of Workforce Services HERE.
